In addition to my scientific work, I am passionate about communicating polar science to students across the US. I have participated in Skype a Scientist since 2020 and have been involved innumerous outreach activities over the years including activities with the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center and the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program. My research team created a number of activities for use in Florida classrooms to help students understand the importance of arctic science and presented this work at AGU in 2022 (see poster below).

Additionally, I’ve taken several courses and trainings related to science communication:
- Communication in Agriculture and Life Sciences (UF Graduate course)
- Science, Narrative, and the Greater Good (UF Graduate course)
- Science Communication 101 Workshop at the Florida Museum
